"He was not lascivious," Richard says of his character. "He was not a letch or anything like that, and she was a blessing in his life at this age."

"And I don't think he'd give a damn if she was a gold-digger or not," Richard adds. "I don't ever think he looked at her that way. Later, he gives her a ranch, takes care of her son -- what the hell, he can't take it with him."

While the 26-year-old's goal is to get inside Anna Nicole's skin, she'll be showing plenty of her own as the movie re-creates the 1993 Playboy centerfold that rocketed Anna Nicole to stardom.

She's also gone to great lengths to copy Anna Nicole's unique vocal inflections, working with a vocal coach and scouring archival footage to capture her movements and girlish Southern drawl.
