It is sort of odd going to interview the model-turned-television-presenter Lisa Snowdon because, although I think I know her, I have never met her before. I've seen her, of course.
In fact, on my way to the photo-shoot in a disused pub in Camberwell, south London, I happen to pick up an old copy of OK! magazine, and there is Snowdon pictured on holiday in Barbados this January with her on-off boyfriend Gary Dourdan (of CSI fame).
She is wearing a skimpy bikini and her long, swingy brown hair hangs halfway down her back and she looks happy and rather sexy. But I find the photographs of her and Dourdan intriguing for many reasons. They make me wonder who Lisa Snowdon really is.
A couple of years back I'd seen her in another glossy magazine, accompanied by another one of her on-off boyfriends, the much lusted-after George Clooney. She was clad in a bikini again but, this time, on board a boat near Clooney's home on Lake Como in Italy.
Then, a few weeks after that, I stumbled across a copy of the men's magazine FHM and there Snowdon was again, posing in lingerie and talking about sex. She has been in the FHM 100 Sexiest Women poll for the past decade, so maybe it's not surprising that she seems to spend a lot of her time wearing few clothes.
When I eventually get to Camberwell she is wearing a top and knickers and nothing more. She giggles a lot while her hair and make-up is being done and she jigs about a bit to the music as a stylist puts her hair up in a ponytail that makes her look rather sweet.
Then again, Snowdon is rather sweet. She doesn't seem to possess any airs and graces. 'Why would I?' she says in her slightly Essex accent. And, even though she has spent the past five years being the envy of many women because of her liaison with Clooney, she seems pretty unfazed by it all.
Which is probably why Clooney liked her - well, that and the fact that she's stunningly pretty. She has amazingly long legs and olive-toned, flawless skin which she attributes to her half-French, half-Turkish mother.
Ah, her body. It is certainly true that her modelling career has involved seemingly endless shots of her not wearing much. Does this bother her, I ask. She laughs.
'I'm a model. I do what I am good at. One of my first big breaks was doing a Triumph calendar with Lord Lichfield. I spent all day modelling lingerie. I have the right body for it, and now I am used to wearing knickers and bras or bikinis on shoots. I have no problem with that.
