An Anchorage man was arrested Wednesday on charges that he sexually assaulted a 7-year-old girl after he had sex with her inebriated mother in a downtown boarding house, according to charges filed in Anchorage District Court.

Russell Henriks, 43, was charged with three counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a minor and two counts of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor.

Henriks admitted to some of the allegations, the charging document says. At his bail hearing he said that, "he 'messed up' and was responsible for what happened," the document says.

According to the charging documents, Henriks lived in the same downtown boarding house as the girl and her mother. After a night of drinking, the mother brought Henriks to her room. The two had sex in the same bed in which little girl was sleeping, the document says. She woke up while they were having sex, the document says.

When he left the room, the girl tried to wake up her mother, but she could not. The mother told police she had been drinking heavily and doesn't remember much from the night, the document says.

During police interviews, Henriks said that the mother participated in the abuse, but the girl's story did not corroborate that, the court document says.

His criminal history in Arizona includes several driving under the influence convictions and several assault charges, the charging document says. Thursday afternoon, White did not know if the Arizona assaults were sexually related.

All the charges filed this week are felonies. First-degree sexual abuse of a minor is punishable by up to 30 years in jail and up to a $75,000 fine. Second-degree sexual abuse of a minor is punishable by up to 10 years in jail and a fine of up to $50,000.
